Series EE Bonds:
Series EE bonds are purchased at half
their face value. They are available in $50, $75, $100, $200,
$500, $1000, $5000, and $10,000 denominations. The earnings rate
on an EE bond is 90% of the five year Treasury yield and is
subject to change twice yearly. Some purchase limitations apply.
Series HH Bonds:
Series HH bonds are available only by
exchanging eligible series E or EE bonds and U.S. Savings Notes.
They are purchased at face value only in denominations of $500,
$1000, $5000, and $10,000. HH bonds have a maturity of ten years
and are redeemed at face value. The earnings rate is fixed until
maturity. Interest is paid every six months.
Series I Bonds: Series I
bonds are purchased at face value and are available in
denominations of $50, $75, $100, $200, $500, $1000, $5000, and
$10,000. The earnings rate is based on a fixed rate of return
and a semi-annual inflation rate based on the Consumer Price
Index. The rate applies for the entire life of the bond. Some
purchase limitations apply.
