Online Rewards FAQs


What is Online Rewards?
Online Rewards is a free service that automatically presents Online Banking users with a variety of money-saving opportunities and online rewards when they use their Skowhegan Savings Bill Pay or debit card to make payments and purchases.

Who operates Online Rewards?
Our Online Banking provider has partnered with a company called BillShrink to offer Online Rewards. BillShrink is a popular online money-saving search engine that has helped 1.5 million Americans save more than $1 billion by delivering personalized money-saving recommendations on their most common household bills.

Is there a cost for Online Rewards?
No. Online Rewards is an included feature of our Free Online Banking product.

How do I qualify for rewards?
Debit card and Bill Pay transactions with participating retailers may prompt reward offers.

Where will I see reward offers?
Reward offers will be presented below qualifying transactions on the Transaction History pages of Online Banking. Users may also click the “See Rewards” link at the bottom of the transaction listing page to see all current available offers (inclusive of transactions posted to any of the customer’s accounts, not just the account they are inquiring within.)

Which merchants/retailers will offer me rewards?
The participating merchant listing is consistently being updated. Nearly 100 retailers (as of 6-8-11) participate with Online Rewards.

How much do I have to spend to qualify for a reward?
The purchase criteria are determined by each merchant and may change regularly. We do not have information regarding the purchase amount or number of purchases required to qualify for a reward.

Why haven’t I been offered any rewards?
Your purchase and bill payment transactions have not met any of the participating merchant’s criteria. Continue to monitor your Rewards regularly.

How do I use a reward offered to me?
Coupon offers will provide you with a fixed amount or percentage discount on your next internet purchase with the specified retailer. Simply click on the link presented within the offer to be redirected to the merchant’s website, select your purchases and see your discounts deducted at check-out.

Prepaid offers will provide you with an opportunity to purchase a gift card for a specified retailer at a reduced price. (For example, a $50 gift card might only cost you $40, providing an instant $10 savings.) Click the link presented within the offer to immediately purchase the gift card.

Bill Analyzer offers will provide a review of your current service plan and suggest other plans or service providers, which would provide you similar features for less money. Click the link presented within the offer to review all plans and options.

How do I opt-out of rewards? I do not wish to participate.
If you do not wish to see offers presented to you, click the “Disable Offers” link at the top of your account transaction listing page. This will hide any offers that you might qualify for.

I turned off Online Rewards; how do I turn it back on?
Simply click the “Enable Offers” link at the top of your account transaction listing page to display any qualifying reward offers available to you.

I purchased a reward, but changed my mind. Can I get a refund?
There is no return policy for rewards, except in the case of system failure or error.

I don’t want merchants/retailers to have my personal information. Remove me from participation.
Online Rewards does not transmit any personal information. The transaction data used to present rewards is anonymous, referencing transaction date, amount and description only. All reward offers will appear securely through Online Banking.

When do reward offers expire?
The reward details are determined by each merchant and may change regularly. Once an offer has expired, it will be removed from view and cannot be reactivated.

What are the “Like” / “Dislike” buttons listed with an offer?
By utilizing these buttons for offers presented, it will allow Online Rewards to only present you with reward offers similar to those that you “like”. If you select “dislike” on an offer, it will be removed and you will not receive similar offers in the future.
