Traveler's
Checks
If
you are traveling across the country or around the world,
take American Express traveler's checks with you instead
of cash! Travel with
the security of knowing that if your traveler's checks
are lost or stolen, American Express will replace them.
Traveler's checks are available in denominations of $20,
$50, and $100 for a nominal fee.
Savings
Bonds
Skowhegan Savings offers a variety of savings bonds as another option for saving
for your children's college education or for your retirement.
Backed by the U.S. Treasury, savings bonds can also be
replaced if lost or stolen.
Savings bond options include:
Series EE Bonds: Series EE bonds are purchased at half their face value. They
are available in $50, $75, $100, $200, $500, $1000, $5000
and $10,000 denominations. The earnings rate on an EE bond
is 90% of the five year Treasury yield and is subject to
change twice yearly. Some purchase limitations apply.
Series I Bonds: Series I bonds are purchased at face value and are available
in denominations of $50, $75, $100, $200, $500, $1000,
$5000 and $10,000. The earnings rate is based on a fixed
rate of return and a semi-annual inflation rate based on
the Consumer Price Index. The rate applies for the entire
life of the bond. Some purchase limitations apply.
