The cold, crisp air and steadily falling leaves greet us each day now as we head toward the end of another year. I hope you all have a chance to enjoy the beauty of Maine in Autumn.
We've had a very busy year so far at Skowhegan Savings. There has been a marked increase in lending activity, which to us indicates that hopefully the worst of our economic downturn is behind us. We also believe that people value our straight forward approach and our willingness to take the time to provide personalized service and financial counseling to our customers. You will notice in our advertising we are using the phrase "Straight Talk. Fair Deals." to highlight our honest, straightforward and professional approach to banking. Perhaps this message will rub off on others during this election year!
I am very pleased to announce that we plan to open our 11th branch office in North Augusta early in 2013. This will be a state of the art facility conveniently located on Route 27 near the Belgrade town line. We also reopened our Skowhegan Area High School branch this fall and look forward to working with the students to not only serve their banking needs, but more importantly to teach them financial literacy skills.
